Rodeo season is here, the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West" is celebrating its 107th year.

The Reno Rodeo rang in the season with its kickoff concert with headliner Dylan Scott.

We got the chance to speak with people who say they don't go a year without attending the kickoff concert for the rodeo.

They enjoy everything about it, the music, the drinks the food, and overall, the atmosphere it brings.

Nicole Sitton a Nevada Native said "It's just nostalgia, really. I mean, I love coming to the rodeo every year. I just said when I walked in the gates, I was like, I gotta go get myself a beer, and I need to get kickass fries, and I can't wait to hear music. Just like, getting ready for the rodeo. I don't know, it's just the whole vibe of it. It just feels good."

People said the kickoff concert isn't just the official start to rodeo season, but also to summer.

They say it's not easy picking what their favorite part of the rodeo is, between the food, music, shows, and vendors, it's hard not to like it all.

People we spoke with said paying for parking at the event is the easiest and safest way to go about it.

Caroline Johnson a Reno Native told us, "This year, was the first year that I paid to park, and it was amazing. They just assure you in. Told you where to go, park, done, walk in. $20 is not that bad, like seriously, you could park on a street you don't know, and you don't know what's going to happen to your car, but you're in here and you’re safe."

Organizers said they are excited for the turn out each year as it continues to grow over time.

They’re happy with the headliner they were able to secure for this year’s kickoff concert, Dylan Scott.

Scott is known for having hits like the triple platinum certified song "My Girl" and other chart-topping songs like "Can’t Have Mine" and “Boys Back Home“

Organizers are hopeful that those who weren't able to make it to the concert at least make some time to stop by in the days to come.

Bob Richards, Program director of K-BULL 98.1 said, "Oh, it's just so much excitement. I mean, it only happens for 10 days out of the year. So, you try to squeeze as much fun in as you can here in 10 days, and it's just really all about seeing your neighbors and your friends and going to the carnival."
