On June 21 around 3:30 a.m., the Sparks Police Department pulled over a reckless driver on North McCarran Blvd. at the eastbound I-80 onramp.
Police say the driver was speeding and failed to stay inside the lane, almost hitting a center divider wall.
After investigating, SPD identified the driver as 21-year-old Vanessa Medina-Valadez.
They say she was driving the car with her child in the backseat while under the influence of alcohol. Officers also found that her 1-year-old child was not restrained properly.
Medina-Valadez faces the following charges:
Child Endangerment 1st
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Reckless Driving
No Insurance
Fail to Maintain Lane
Child Restraint Violation 1st
