Authorities have identified the driver who died in a crash on U.S. 50 east near Spooner Summit late last month. 

The crash happened near Douglas County mile marker 14, east of the summit, before 2:45 a.m. on October 29th.  

NHP says a preliminary investigation shows that a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was heading east when it went off the right side of the roadway into the chain up area of U.S. 50. Troopers say the front of the truck hit the concrete barrier and overturned. It stopped after hitting the inside concrete barrier. 

NHP says the driver, 20-year-old William Barkdoll of Gardnerville died on scene. 

The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
