The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles will now schedule all drive tests through its WaitWell system, allowing customers to view available times, reschedule, or cancel appointments through a single link.
“I am so thrilled to finally have our drive tests on the WaitWell system,” said DMV Director Tonya Laney. “Ever since our implementation of WaitWell last year, our offices have been operating more smoothly and efficiently, which are great wins for everyone.”
The system replaces the DMV’s previous in-house drive test scheduler, which officials said was outdated and lacked flexibility.
“The old drive test scheduler was an in-house program created years ago,” Laney said. “The technology is antiquated and doesn’t allow us to make changes based on office needs. In the past, for example, if we had to close our offices for severe weather conditions, we’d have to call every customer that day; now we can text them directly, which is a much easier process.”
Through WaitWell, customers can view testing availability across multiple locations and receive appointment confirmations via secure text.
The system also allows users to reschedule or cancel by replying to the message.
All DMV offices will use WaitWell for drive test appointments, except the North Las Vegas Commercial Driver’s License office, the Reno CDL, and the Laughlin office.
The DMV reminds customers that all services are available by appointment, online, or at a kiosk.
