Scoop Fest, a community art festival, is taking place at the Holland Project on Saturday September 28.
The festivities go from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The event is all-ages and admission is free.
The festival prides itself in being an event where people can get to know local artists, and also gather information about what Northern Nevada's many arts organizations have to offer.
People can expect to find a mini artists market, free ice cream, a food truck, a live DJ and hands-on demos, in addition to 19 different arts organizations presenting their events, opportunities and programs.
An exhibition will also be held; Jones Ranch Egypt by Las Vegas artist Brent Holmes will be on-site, with a gallery talk happening at 2:30 p.m.
The event is held by Double Scoop, Nevada's independent visual arts publication, a non-profit news outlet funded largely by community support.
For more information about the event, call Double Scoop Director Kris Vagner at (775) 250-9670.
