Hawk Fire at night

A reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of the person or people responsible for starting the Hawk Fire.

In a release, Secret Witness acknowledges that the fire might have started accidentally.

The fire broke out in the late morning on Saturday, August 22, on the north slope of Peavine Mountain above Reno's Somerset neighborhood.

It has so far burned more than 25 square miles and destroyed dozens of homes.

Anyone with information about the persons responsible can remain anonymous and use Secret Witness to pass information to the Sheriff's Office.
