The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) is reaching out for your support; you can back the City of Sparks or the City of Reno in their latest fundraiser.

The Shave for the Brave event kicks off on March 3 at 8:00 a.m. at the NNCCF  office, located at 3550 Barron Way in Reno.

The event, usually held each year around St. Patrick's Day, asks the community to go bald in support of children's cancer research.

Shave for the Brave is a friendly competition between the City of Sparks and the City of Reno, as represented by their respective council members Donald Abbott from Sparks Ward 1, and Devon Reese from Reno Ward 5.

Residents from each city are urged to donate to the councilmember of their choosing to help their side win - and both councilmembers will be shaving their heads, regardless of the outcome.

Donations support the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which has a mission of raising funds to help conquer kids cancer.

You can find links to donate for Councilmember Abbott or Councilmember Reese in our News Links section.
