WCSO HMU donation

Max and Goliath, two of Washoe County’s mounted deputies, were among the horses highlighted when the Mounted Horse Unit received new equipment and resources to support the care of the team.

The donation was recently shared in person with the donors, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in an online post.

“We would like to extend a huge thank you to Lithia Hyundai of Reno for their donation in support of the Washoe County Mounted Horse Unit Auxiliary,” the department wrote. “This contribution helps provide essential equipment and care for our Mounted Horse Unit teams as they proudly serve our region.”

The department added, “MHU deputies and horses Max and Goliath recently had the opportunity to meet members of the Lithia Hyundai team and share their appreciation in person. We are grateful to Lithia Hyundai of Reno for their continued support of our Mounted Horse Unit and the community we serve.”

The Mounted Horse Unit assists deputies in community outreach, crowd management, and search operations, providing a visible and approachable presence throughout Washoe County.
