For a second day in a row, high winds are affecting flights in and out of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

According to an official with the airport, all Southwest flights in and out of the airport are now canceled for the rest of Monday.

Earlier, five different flights were diverted while another five were diverted on Sunday.

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority says that these decisions are made solely at the discretion of the plane pilots and the airlines.

Officials strongly recommend that travelers check flight statuses directly with their airline, and to use the Reno Airport website to check before heading to the airport.

The Eldorado, Circus Circus, and Silver Legacy are offering a special rate for stranded travelers. People who show a boarding pass can book rooms at a special rate of $59 with no resort fees.
