A Sun Valley man faces numerous charges after deputies say he stole a truck from Washoe County and then led officers on a pursuit eventually ramming the car through two locked gates.

Deputies say they were alerted to the suspected stolen truck near I-80 and Lockwood just before 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Deputies say the driver, 41-year-old Earl Houlden was also a suspect in a domestic battery and was possibly armed.

Authorities say a deputy saw him heading east on I-80 near Patrick then onto Waltham Way in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, but when the deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver took off leading the officer on a chase south on USA Parkway. Deputies say the suspect failed to stop for several traffic lights, and then exited USA Parkway onto private property and rammed through two locked gates.

After deputies lost sight of the truck, NHP troopers and Lyon County deputies were called in to help. After they found the truck, they found the suspect about a half-mile away who then started to run away. And that's when Lyon County deputies used a K9 to catch Houlden.

Houlden was medically treated and cleared before being booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on the following charges:
* Resist public officer (misdemeanor)
* Driver evade, elude, or fail to stop on signal of peace officer, endangering other person or property (felony)
* Driver evade, elude, or fail to stop on signal of peace officer, damaging property of another (felony)
