A person who has been arrested in Winnemucca is in connection with the robbery that happened in August 2024.
In August 2024, Washoe County deputies responded to a robbery that happened at the Sasquatch Tavern and Grill in Verdi.
In an online post by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, now identified as 65-year-old Ed Simon, allegedly demanded money from a bartender while displaying a firearm.
According to deputies, at the time of the incident, the suspect wasn't identified.
After deputies continued their investigation, a warrant was granted in October 2025.
Deputies say this week, deputies learned that Simon was in custody in Winnemucca on local charges.
After Simon serves charges in Winnemucca, Simon will then be transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility on the felony charge of Robbery with the Use of a Deadly Weapon, according to the Sheriff's Office.
