Temporary traffic flow changes around the Reno Livestock Events Center are now in effect to support the Reno Rodeo, which runs from June 19 to June 28.

The City of Reno approved the changes in response to requests from the Reno Rodeo Association, citing the event's growing attendance and need for additional parking and controlled traffic measures.

Wells Avenue is now reduced to two lanes, with one-way west and southbound traffic from Sutro Street to 9th Street.

Northbound traffic is being redirected east at 9th Street and north at Sutro Street.

Only left turns are permitted into and out of the rodeo grounds from Wells Avenue.

Normal turning movements remain in place on Sutro and 9th streets.

Traffic signs are posted, and Reno Police Department officers may assist during peak times.

Gate 3, located on Wells Avenue west of Sutro Street, is designated as the contestant entrance.

Public parking access is available through Gate 2.5 for the north lot and Gate 6 off Sutro Street for the south lot. ADA parking is provided in both areas.

Gates 2, 4, and the Health Department Gate will serve as exit-only points.

All gates will open after nightly events to help manage outgoing traffic.

Free parking with shuttle service is available daily from 2:30 p.m. to midnight at the Grand Sierra Resort and from 4:30 p.m. to midnight at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Enterprise Road lot.

Shuttle service to both parking sites is accessible at a bus stop north of Gate 2.0. Taxi stands are located on Wells Avenue south of Sadlier Drive.

Traffic changes are in effect through the evening of Sunday, June 15, and will be removed early on the morning of Sunday, June 29.

Beginning today, Wells Avenue is one-way southbound between 9th Street and Oddie Boulevard.

Additionally, from June 18 to 27, access to the Washoe County Complex parking lot will close at 5 p.m. daily.

Visitors planning to access Washoe County offices on 9th Street are encouraged to plan ahead.
