Travel Nevada has broken ground on the Nevada Adventure Center in Carson City, launching a major project aimed at expanding outdoor recreation and tourism across the state.
Expected to open in early fall 2026, the center will serve as a base where people can plan trips, access safety information, and connect with guides, gear, and adventure services.
“Today’s groundbreaking is an exciting step toward bringing the Nevada Adventure Center to life,” said Rafael Villanueva, CEO of Travel Nevada. “This facility will offer visitors a gateway to northern Nevada’s unmatched outdoor recreation while creating new opportunities for local businesses.”
The Carson City project follows a similar one that began in Boulder City in September. Together, the two centers represent more than $7 million in investment on state-owned land.
Both facilities will provide leasing opportunities for businesses and tour operators to connect directly with visitors through interactive displays and marketing partnerships.
Outdoor recreation remains a growing part of Nevada’s tourism economy, with spending reaching $1.8 billion in 2024 and visitation to parks and recreation areas increasing nearly 3% from the previous year.
