Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue has its green waste collection sites open this weekend.
Hours for Saturday have passed, but the sites will also be open on Sunday.
People can use the sites to throw out dry and dead leaves, grass, tree branches, and other vegetation.
Disposing of those things can help protect properties from wildfire.
Collection on Sunday will happen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lemmon Valley Station off Nectar Street.
Another collection site will be open at the Silver Lake Station off Red Rock Road.
There will be additional collection opportunities throughout the fall.
