Truckee Meadows Tomorrow released its Community Progress Report to members and leaders in Washoe County on Tuesday.
The report tracks data of more than 450 quality of life indicators.
It covers topics such as health and wellness, education, the economy, homelessness, and more.
The report helps visualize trends, and it acts as a starting point to help people address the communities' biggest needs.
"It is important to stay engaged to not only know the data in your community but also equipping local businesses and organizations with that data so that we can rally behind those data points, really convene, and create moveable change in our area," said Erin Hanna-Butros Meyering, Executive Director for Truckee Meadows Tomorrow.
Meyering also says that many issues in the community are connected.
For example, proficiency in English language arts and math is decreasing for 3rd through 8th grade students in Washoe County, which impacts their odds of graduating high school or pursuing higher education.
This can also be connected to issues such as the affordable housing crisis, or even the mental health and well-being for students and parents.
Organizers hope this information can help groups focus on their most pressing issues.
"We're able to help nonprofits and equip them with the data they need to bring outside grants into the state and into the area, so really it is equipping people with that data literacy to be able to create change," said Erin Hanna-Butros Meyering, Executive Director for Truckee Meadows Tomorrow.
