Two people killed in a crash on Pyramid Highway in the area of Disc Drive on September 11 have been identified.

Preliminary investigation shows that a blue Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and a black Nissan Juke were traveling northbound on Pyramid Highway when the Nissan made an unsafe lane change.

The left rear of the Nissan hit the front right of the Chevrolet, and the Nissan started to spin counterclockwise into the southbound lanes of Pyramid Highway.

The driver of the Nissan steered to the right and started heading north in the southbound lanes, where it collided head-on with the Honda.

The driver of the Nissan Juke, 26-year-old Jared Vega of Sparks, was pronounced dead on scene, as was the driver of the Honda Insight, 56-year-old Caryn Stockton of Sparks.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was detained during the initial investigation. No formal charges have been filed at this time.
