Two people are in the hospital after a motorcycle crashed into an Amazon delivery van in downtown Reno.

Around 1:25 p.m. Reno Police and Fire Departments and REMSA were called to the scene of a crash on Ralston Avenue and W 6th Street.

The initial investigation found that the riders of the motorcycle were attempting to pass an Amazon delivery van on the left while the van was trying to make a left-hand turn.

Speed and unsafe riding appear to be factors in the crash.

The driver of the Amazon van stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

At this time, Ralston Avenue is closed at 6th Street in both directions - drivers in the area are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency line at (775) 334-2677. They can also contact Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900 or the Secret Witness website.
