A member of the University Police Department is retiring after five years of service.
Rosie is an explosive detection K9 who joined the department’s Northern Command in January 2021.
Rosie and her handler, Officer Tom Emmons, supported major events, special assignments and other situations where explosive detection skills were needed.
The University Police Department Northern Command wrote on Facebook, "Rosie has been more than a working K9, she has been a trusted partner to Tom and a beloved member of our department. Congratulations on your retirement, K9 Rosie, and thank you for five years of faithful service to our communities. Enjoy retirement, you’ve earned it!"
