The delayed pavement project of USA Parkway, between Interstate 80 and Electric Avenue, will officially begin on September 27.

According to NDOT, short sections of USA Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Interstate 80 and southern Electric Avenue.

Officials say brief intersection closures of Waltham Way and Electric Avenue intersections at USA Parkway will occur, with marked detours available.

Saturday will be the initial start day for the construction.

NDOT says the majority of lane reductions will happen from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.

Officials also say periodic lane reductions will take place 24/7 between 7 p.m. Fridays through 4 a.m. Mondays, primarily in October and early November.

Areas of road work will be scheduled to avoid the busiest travel times and reduce traffic impacts within the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, according to NDOT.

Drivers are reminded to allow extra travel time and to drive safely through the road work zone.

NDOT says the project schedule is subject to change without notice, based on weather and other factors.

Original Story

The Nevada Department of Transportation has delayed the start of repaving work on USA Parkway between Interstate 80 and southern Electric Avenue.

Originally set to begin Sunday, Sept. 14, the project has been postponed, and a new start date has not been announced. NDOT did not provide a reason for the delay.

The project will include nighttime lane closures, intersection detours, and asphalt repaving to improve road conditions in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center area. Lane reductions will mostly occur between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday evenings through Friday mornings, once work begins.

NDOT will release updated scheduling information as it becomes available.
