Washoe County Chief Investigator Michelle Bays is retiring from her role with the Washoe County District Attorney's Office.
Bays began her service as Chief of the Investigations Division and Victim Services in January 2019.
Her career in law enforcement began in 1994 according to the Washoe County website.
She attended the High Sierra Regional Law Enforcement Academy and spent time working with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
"Chief Bays will always be celebrated for her tireless work ethic, ability to navigate complex issues with savvy and grace, and her unwavering dedication to safeguarding the community," said Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks on X.
