Hidden Valley residents are invited to a community meeting next month focusing on recovery efforts and work to reduce future flood impacts.
Washoe County is holding the meeting on Wednesday, August 19, at 6 p.m. at the Hidden Valley Country Club, according to a release from the county.
County staff and subject matter experts will provide an overview of what occurred during the storm, explain how Hidden Valley’s stormwater drainage system is designed to function, discuss repairs completed since the flood, and share information about available community resources.
It will also be explained why extreme flash floods can't be completely prevented, and steps being taken to improve community resilience will also be covered.
Maps, photos, and videos will be shared during the meeting, and people will have the chance to ask questions and speak directly with County staff.
