In recognition of National Voter Registration Day, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar is encouraging eligible Nevadans to register to vote and registered voters to verify that their address and other information are current ahead of the November 3 General Election.
“The right to vote is fundamental to our democracy, and every eligible Nevadan must have the opportunity to make their voice heard,” said Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar. “Registering to vote is the first step in shaping the future of your community and our state. Take that step today—and if you are already registered, make sure your information is current.”
Nevadans can go online to:
* Register to vote
* Check their voter registration information
* Update their name, address or party affiliation
* Add their contact information, including cell phone numbers and email addresses, so their local election officials can contact them with important election information
* Confirm their mail ballot preference
Eligible Nevadans who are at least 17 years old may preregister to vote. Their registration becomes active when they turn 18.
Mail ballots will begin going out shortly after National Voter Registration Day. County election offices will mail ballots to military and overseas voters by Sept. 17-18, followed by ballots to other out-of-state voters Sept. 18-24. Mail ballots will be sent to in-state voters the week of October 5.

Important dates for the 2026 General Election
* Early Voting: Early voting runs from October 17 through October 30. County polling locations will be available here.
* Election Day: Election Day is November 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
* Mail Ballots: October 20 is the last day to register or update an existing registration and be mailed a ballot. Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the county election official no later than November 7 to be counted. The SOS recommends mailing ballots at least one week before Election Day. Voters may also return their mail ballot at any official dropbox in their county.
* Track your ballot: Voters can sign up to track their mail ballot on MyBallot.NV.gov.
* NVEASE: Nevada’s Effective Absentee System for Elections is available now at NVEASE.gov. NVEASE is available for military and overseas citizens, Nevadans with a disability and Tribal members living on a reservation or colony in Nevada.
* Same-Day Voter Registration: Voters can register to vote or update their voter registration online or in-person during early voting or on Election Day at a polling location. Learn more about Same-Day Voter Registration here.
