The first measles case since 2018 has been reported in Washoe County.

Northern Nevada Public Health says a man tested positive on Friday.

Officials say he is unvaccinated.

Investigators are trying to learn where he contracted measles, but believe he stayed home while infectious.

Officials say symptoms of measles include fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes, as well as a rash one to four days after the initial symptoms.
