A deadly shooting in the valet area of the Grand Sierra Resort has left three people dead, two in critical condition, and one has been released from the hospital.
The suspect was shot by police and is currently recovering in a local hospital.
2 News Nevada got the chance to talk with some witnesses, one who arrived on scene moments after it happened.
"It's scary though," said William Barbaria, a witness. "I could have been, you know, 40 seconds earlier."
Another man was eating breakfast with his family.
"So I see ourselves as victims of this," said Ricy, who did not want to share with us his last name. "Yeah. Maybe not directly by being wounded; but definitely my children were crying. My wife was distraught. You know, I think everybody in there definitely feared for their life."
What felt like a regular morning turned into a disaster quickly at the GSR. Barbaria says when he walked outside he saw several people being treated for gunshot wounds.
"When I came out, there were some people here, and there's, like, pillars - and on the other pillar there was another guy," Barbaria said showing us with his arms and hands on what he saw. "He had his arm up, and I was kind of like, I don't know. I was slow to it. So his arm is up and someone was helping him."
Barbaria says it will take him a while to come to terms with what his eyes saw that morning.
"I'm kind of nervous," he said. "I actually, not like a paranoid thing, but I'm sure they have the place locked down and it's secure. But it's just I've never, never been through that, you know? And it was just so quick."
The gentleman said he can't imagine what the victims are going through.
"To the families, it's just, it's it's unbelievable," Barbaria said. "I couldn't even imagine, I've never seen deceased people like that. It's scary."
This tragedy, he says, will be a moment he'll never forget.
