Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by an SUV on the I-80 east on-ramp near University Way in Reno last month. 

NHP says 51-year-old Jennifer Nelson of Reno was walking on the roadway when a 2008 GMC Arcadia headed south hit her, near the intersection of Maple Street on November 17th.

NHP says Nelson was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.

The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.

An investigation is underway after a car hit and killed a pedestrian on the I-80 east on-ramp near University Way in Reno. 

Nevada Highway Patrol says the incident happened after 10:30 p.m. on Monday.

NHP says an SUV was going east on Maple Street, entering the I-80 eastbound on-ramp when the driver hit and killed a woman.

Her name has not been released.

Troopers say the driver of the SUV remained on-scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

They do not yet know whether speed or impairment were factors in this crash.
