A man wanted in Idaho after four separate shooting incidents shot himself in the head after a pursuit in northern Nevada earlier this week.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Anthony Madrid Jr. as involved in four shootings in the cities of Caldwell and Nampa in Idaho.
They started last Friday when they say he shot into a car and hurt a woman. Then the next day they say he fired shots at officers and then shot into an apartment several times on Monday.
Then on Tuesday, Idaho authorities tracked Madrid in Nampa, through southern Idaho and into Humboldt County where deputies tried to stop the car on U.S. 95 with spike strips.Â
Deputies say Madrid kept driving for another three miles, despite a punctured driver side tire. When it stopped, officers say they finally approached the car to find Madrid holding a 9mm handgun with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.Â
He was transported to Humboldt General Hospital and then flown to Renown to Reno where he died.Â
The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an investigation and autopsy related to his death.Â
Madrid was wanted on multiple felony charges including resisting an officer with the use of a firearm, parole violations and other charges with a bail of $5 million.Â
