A former fraternity leader at Northern Arizona University has been sentenced to two months in jail and three years of supervised probation for his role in a deadly hazing. Carter Eslick had pleaded guilty to a felony hazing charge in the death of 18-year-old Colin Martinez. An autopsy found Martinez died of alcohol poisoning. Eslick was the fraternity’s pledge master at the time. Martinez was among four Delta Tau Delta pledges who shared two bottles of vodka to ensure they vomited. The university suspended the fraternity after Martinez’s death, and the national organization closed its NAU chapter. The Associated Press left messages for Eslick’s attorney Wednesday.
