President Donald Trump is casting doubt on whether Alaska's Democratic U.S. Senate candidate would be seated even if she won the election after accusations her campaign recruited another candidate with the same name as Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan. The New York Times reports Democrat Mary Peltola’s team may have recruited another Dan Sullivan to confuse voters. Trump said Thursday it's “hard to believe” Peltola could even be allowed to run and “you’re going to have to see what happens.” Alaska Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy has ordered an investigation, saying tricking voters “strikes at the integrity of our elections.” Peltola dismisses the allegations as a distraction from key issues.
