Postal Service work to comply with Trump's executive order is rushed, sloppy, whistleblower contends
A whistleblower for the U.S. Postal Service is warning that a new mail ballot system being hastily built to comply with President Donald Trump's executive order restricting that method of voting could lead to the rejection of huge numbers of mail ballots. The whistleblower made the allegation anonymously in documents submitted by Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal to the Postal Service. Blumenthal says the disclosure shows Trump is trying to sabotage mail voting. A federal judge has barred the Postal Service from making the changes for the midterms, but that case is being appealed, possibly to the Supreme Court.
The U.S. military has struck targets in Iran, leading Tehran to respond with missile and drone fire as hostilities ignited once again. U.S. Central Command said Tuesday the strikes were in response to Iran trying to attack commercial ships and American forces in the Middle East. President Donald Trump told Fox News U.S. forces struck Iran’s radars. Iranian state media reported the U.S. bombed civilian sites along Iran’s southern coast and hit a civilian airport. Hormozgan Province’s Deputy Governor Ahmad Nafisi says a U.S. strike hit a home where a wedding ceremony was being held, killing two people and wounding at least 20 others.
