The U.S. stock market is losing ground in mixed trading, while gold and silver bounce back from their latest sell-off. The S&P 500 fell 0.9%, even though the majority of stocks within the index rose. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 189 points, and the Nasdaq composite fell 1.6%. Nvidia, Microsoft and other influential Big Tech stocks weighed on the market, drowning out a climb for Palantir Technologies after it delivered a better profit report than analysts expected. Gold’s price rallied more than than 6%, while silver's price leaped more than 11%. Treasury yields held relatively steady in the bond market.
