Clashes erupted in Paris Saturday as over 400,000 people protested across France against school funding and rising living costs. The Paris march began peacefully but turned violent near its endpoint, with protesters throwing projectiles and police using tear gas and water cannons. Authorities reported 410,000 people participated nationwide, with 110,000 in Paris. The unrest challenges President Emmanuel Macron's government, with the far-right National Rally accusing him of failing to protect the public. Trade unions led the protests, demanding better schools, higher wages, and pensions. The movement began over staff shortages at a high school and has spread nationwide.
