Protests against rising living costs and student grievances have erupted across France. In Paris, police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse violent protesters. Similar tensions occurred in other cities like Lyon and Marseille. The protests have revived the "yellow vest" movement from 2018. The CGT labor union supports the demonstrations, calling for higher wages and pensions. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez earlier reported 140 protest actions outside Paris, with over 30,000 people involved. Authorities have made at least 166 arrests nationwide.
