Over 100,000 people marched in Paris and other French cities Saturday, protesting school funding and rising living costs. The unrest challenges President Emmanuel Macron, whose popularity is low as his term nears its end. Police used tear gas and water cannons in several cities. Authorities arrested 64 people, including six minors. The protests began over staff shortages at a high school and have grown nationwide. Students and workers are demanding better schools and higher wages. Trade unions have criticized bans on rallies, calling them violations of free expression. Macron says measures are needed to protect city centers and businesses.
