Rescue teams in Germany are searching for three people missing after a building collapsed in the eastern city of Görlitz near the Polish border. Police said Tuesday a gas explosion may have caused the collapse the previous evening. Emergency responders were proceeding cautiously due to potential gas leaks. Initial attempts Monday night to locate the missing with search dogs were unsuccessful. Efforts began around 2 a.m. Tuesday to clear debris with an excavator and by hand. Police initially feared up to five people were trapped but later corrected the number. The building contained rental and vacation apartments. Görlitz is known for its historic old town and is a popular filming location.
