Hawaii's Kilauea volcano has resumed erupting, firing lava into the sky from its summit crater.
The USGS says it's the 34th time the volcano has released molten rock since last December.
Kilauea is one of the world's most active volcanoes. It's located on Hawaii Island, the largest of the Hawaiian archipelago. It’s about 200 miles south of the state’s largest city, Honolulu, which is on Oahu.
Kilauea, Hawaii’s second-largest volcano, erupted from September 2021 until December 2024. A 2018 Kilauea eruption destroyed more than 700 homes.
