Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter crash kills pilot and trooper during shooter response
An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter responding to an active shooter situation has crashed, killing both the pilot and a trooper who was a paramedic. The department says the helicopter was assisting the Flagstaff Police Department and other law enforcement agencies on Wednesday night. The Federal Aviation Administration says there was a post-crash fire. The department says it will work with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board on the crash investigation. The suspect suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds and was taken into custody. No one else was injured.
