Kenyan authorities on Tuesday confirmed the country’s first imported Ebola case from Congo. It is the latest country hit by the fast-moving outbreak of the disease that aid workers say is spreading like a “megafire.” Kenyan Health Minister Aden Duale said Tuesday that the patient, a Kenyan citizen, arrived in the country Saturday from Congo via Uganda and was isolated and treated at Nairobi Hospital. The patient tested positive for the Ebola virus after developing symptoms associated with hemorrhagic fever. The patient died Monday night while receiving treatment. Health authorities have placed the country on high alert and are monitoring for possible additional cases.
