The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says its Sheriff’s Traffic Enforcement Team (STET) remained busy throughout September.
During the month, STET deputies made:
- 780 traffic stops
- 254 citations
- 5 DUI arrests
- Several traffic-related arrests, including drug possession cases
STET has conducted 5,329 traffic stops so far this year.
Deputies say they focused on excessive speeding, impaired driving and other hazardous driving behaviors.
The Sheriff's Office is also announcing new radar trailers coming to Lyon County
The trailers were purchased using grant funding and will be rotated through communities and areas where speeding and other traffic concerns have been identified.
The trailers display drivers' speeds as an immediate reminder to slow down and will also help deputies identify areas where additional traffic enforcement may be needed.
