The Oregon man who fatally shot a teenage gunman to end a rampage at an elementary school says he was the children's “last line of defense.” But 36-year-old Kaylub Giamanco tells Oregon Public Broadcasting that he feels like he failed the families of those who died in the attack last week. Three children and a teacher were killed at the school before Giamanco shot and killed 16-year-old Griffin J. John II. Giamanco says the real hero was a teacher who was struggling with the shooter when he arrived. Giamanco says the teacher's actions gave him an opening to kill the attacker.
