Rising oil prices are knocking U.S. stocks lower. The S&P 500 fell 0.4% Monday and gave back some of its gains from last week, which had brought it to the brink of its all-time high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 274 points, and the Nasdaq composite slipped 0.5%. Stocks felt pressure after the price for the most actively traded part of the market for Brent crude oil rose 1.5% toward $99 per barrel. That sent yields higher in the bond market. It was also enough to overshadow a gain for Nvidia, which announced a historic stock buyback.
