Thailand Extreme Weather Floods

Rain has eased in Thailand’s capital on Sunday, but flooding persisted in several low-lying areas, with thousands forced to evacuate. Thousands have moved to temporary shelters. Continuous downpours have caused widespread flooding in Bangkok, disrupting traffic and businesses. The Meteorological Department says moderate to heavy rain is still expected Sunday, but conditions should improve by Monday. Bangkok has set up over 200 shelters, with about 3,000 people still in them. More than 545,000 people in 25 provinces have been affected by flooding, and officials are working to drain water quickly. At least eight deaths have been reported nationwide in the past 10 days
