Speaker Mike Johnson’s ability to carry out President Donald Trump’s “play call” for funding the government looks promising ahead of a House vote on a bill to end the partial shutdown. Johnson found success Tuesday when House Republicans cleared the bill during a key procedural vote. The measure would end the partial government shutdown that began Saturday.
