A Georgia amusement park where a man fell to his death from a roller coaster is set to reopen amid a growing safety probe of roller coasters made by the same manufacturer. At least two theme parks not owned by Six Flags confirmed Thursday they also have temporarily shut down roller coasters built by the same manufacturer as Goliath in Georgia. The manufacturer, Bolliger & Mabillard, declined to answer questions about the shutdowns. People who visited the Georgia park have raised concerns about the Goliath coaster's restraints.
Six Flags Over Georgia has opened for the first time since a man fell to his death from the Goliath roller coaster. Authorities are investigating the death, which occurred Monday. Witnesses reported seeing Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem ejected from the ride. Some riders have said they expressed concerns about the coaster's restraints. Goliath is expected to remain closed, but the park opened Friday as scheduled. At least 11 other coasters in the U.S. and Canada, have been temporarily shut down since Monday.
