Overall employment in Nevada continued to grow in October with the state adding 11,200 jobs since September, 2021.
The new job additions came from many of the industries in Nevada, with a few experiencing a decline.
For example, the professional and business services industry added 4,200 jobs for a growth rate of 2.1 percent; the education and health services industry added 3,100 jobs with a growth rate of 2.1 percent.
"Nevada's unemployment rate continues to drop and October marked the second-strongest month for job growth for the year. In three of the last four months, Nevada has shown the fastest pace of hires in the nation - a strong sign for our continued recovery," said Governor Steve Sisolak. "My administration is laser focused on continuing this path of economic growth, creating more good-paying jobs and making sure Nevadans are connected to job opportunities."
The industry with the biggest growth rate was other services with a growth rate of 2.8 percent and 1,200 jobs added.Â
Government jobs in the state saw a decline with 800 fewer jobs over the month of September.Â
The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 7.3 percent this month which is down from 7.5 percent the previous month.
