The Elko Police Department has shared details of a fatal crash that occurred over the weekend in the area of Bullion Road.
Officers were called out to Bullion Road, near the hot holes at around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
When they arrived to the scene, they found two trucks that were involved in a head-on collision; a Chevy Silverado and a Chevy Colorado.
According to the report, the driver of the Silverado was allegedly speeding and wasn't able to navigate a turn. In the attempt, he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and hit the Colorado head-on.
Elko Fire Department and Elko County Ambulance were called to the scene, as three people needed extrication from the trucks.
The driver of the Colorado, Erasmo Munoz-Haro, was taken to the Northern Nevada Regional Hospital, were he was pronounced dead.
The other two people who were extricated were transported out of the area to receive medical treatment.
Officials say impairment and speed are both suspected factors in the crash.
