HOW LONG YOU HAVE LIVED IN NEVADA: Life long Nevadan (49 years)
WRITE A BRIEF (TWO TO THREE SENTENCES) SUMMARY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ENABLE YOU TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS OFFICE:
With over 25 years of experience in business in and beyond Reno, I’ve navigated the challenges of balancing work, family, and community, giving me firsthand insight into what makes our city thrive as well as where we have significant challenges. I’ve spent my career finding practical solutions and advocating for brands, destinations, workforce development, small businesses, investments in our schools, public safety, and families alike. My passion for community improvement and hands-on problem-solving makes me ready to serve as your Reno City Council member with both the heart of a life long Nevadan and the grit of a boy mom.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?
To continue to create a thriving community by championing accessible housing, expanding parks and recreation and public safety access, and supporting small businesses, all while ensuring the city grows in a way that balances economic prosperity with quality of life for families and residents.
IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING RENO, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?
I believe the biggest opportunity for Reno lies in regionalizing our fire services to better prepare for the growing challenges of climate change. By combining the fire departments of the County, City of Sparks, City of Reno, and the Airport, we can leverage existing resources, expertise, and equipment to create a stronger, more agile fire district—one that is ready to face increasingly frequent and dangerous fire conditions. This approach would also reduce bureaucratic delays, making it easier to address critical infrastructure needs like updating sewer systems for infill development and identifying funding for improving parks and recreation programs throughout the city. Regionalization isn’t just about safety; it’s about building a more efficient, forward-thinking community.
WHAT’S YOUR PLAN TO HELP EASE THE HOUSING CRUNCH IN RENO?
These are the top three options I believe are essential, and are currently being prioritized:
Increasing infill development – By using existing urban spaces for new housing projects, we can address growth without expanding outward, making better use of our current infrastructure.
Streamlining the permit process – Reducing bureaucratic delays and simplifying approval for new developments will help get housing projects to market faster, which can bring more units online sooner.
Expanding affordable housing incentives – Offering tax breaks or other incentives for developers to create more affordable housing ensures we have options for first-time homebuyers and middle-income families.
Focusing on a diverse range of housing options with urgency, while honoring our cities character will be top of mind as your councilmember.
IN ONE SENTENCE: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING VOTERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I have a deep passion for this community, and with my years of experience balancing business, family, and public service, I’m committed to creating a thriving, inclusive Reno where everyone can succeed.
YES OR NO: WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION, WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE?
