A University of Nevada, Reno professor who filed suit against the university alleging another faculty member harassed and attempted to traffic them and that the university failed to act on her allegations has disabled a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for her legal fees.
In a post on her GoFundMe page, Dr. Feifei Fan said that she had submitted a refund request, and that those who donated to her campaign should see refunds within three to seven business days.
In the statement, posted Tuesday, Fan says "I appreciate your support, but I've deeply disappointed myself. I am unable make any better changes; instead, I'm just dragging myself into an abyss, deeper and deeper, being severely tormented by reality. I hope that one day, when I'm strong, I can share all my painful struggles with you."
A lawsuit filed in 2022 by Fan alleges the University "knowingly permitted its well-funded and powerful senior professors, to turn a higher education workplace into a hostile environment with underground sex slavery..."
In the lawsuit, Fan claims that a fellow faculty member trafficked them and that the university failed to act during their investigation.
Fan and the accused, Dr. Yanyao Jiang, are still current employees at the University.

University of Nevada, Reno President Brian Sandoval released a statement one day after students protested the university’s handling of sexual assault allegations.
The accusations stem from a 2022 lawsuit (below article) in which a professor claims another faculty member harassed and attempted to traffic them. it also accuses the university of failing to act on the allegations.

Both parties are still employed by the school and the protesting students called for the accused professor to be dismissed.
