On Wednesday night, at Greater Nevada Field, the Reno Aces invited members of the community to preview their upcoming "Home for the Holidays" event.

The event will include the lighting of their 100-foot-tall LED Christmas Tree, which is the tallest LED tree in the nation.

It will also feature local vendors, holiday-themed food and drinks, interactive lights, and appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Aces President Eric Edelstein tells us the process and work that went into this event.

"It's been an 18-month journey to get us to here," he said. "From researching, to figuring out what the right things are to get on site."

He says that without the community, Aces fans, and the event staff, the event wouldn't be possible. He touched on what it means to bring everyone together for some holiday cheer.

"We've been looking for something like this for years," he said. "We've studied it, we've researched it. We really wanted to bring something special, not just a cookie-cutter experience. This is interactive. It is truly an experience."

The event will be this weekend, December 5th and 6th, the following weekend, December 12th and 13th, and on the days leading up to Christmas, December 19th through 23rd.Â
