A Reno man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a lifetime term of supervised release for coercion and enticement of a child.
According to court documents, 45-year-old Carlos Heringer Concha engaged in sexual conversations with a 14-year-old on Discord, requested photos from the victim, and sent photos and videos of himself. These conversations took place from December 2022 to March 2023.
In March of 2023, Concha traveled from Reno to Truckee to meet the victim, where he was arrested by law enforcement.Â
He pleaded guilty in February of this year to one count of coercion and enticement.
Concha was sentenced to the minimum 10 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. He also must register as a sex offender and keep the registration current.
In a separate case, Concha was also convicted of two counts of luring or attempting to lure a child with the use of computer technology to engage in sexual conduct.
He committed those crimes while on pretrial release for the federal case.Â
He was sentenced to 48-120 months in prison for each count. Judge Miranda M. Du ordered 84 months of his federal sentence to run consecutive to his state case.
