After seeing just over a foot of snow fall at the Reno Airport last December, 2023 finished the month with nothing measurable.
It’s been a warmer than average month too. Going back to when records began, December 2023 was the third warmest December on record for the average temperature between the low and high in Reno.
It is the sixth warmest December on record for the max temperature alone.
December was a warm month for most of the country as well. Parts of the Midwest and Northern Plains more than likely saw their warmest December on record in 2023.
We didn’t break the daily record, but Reno made it up to 64 degrees on December 27th and December 6th.
This week will be cooler with temperatures in the 40’s, which is closer to average.
